Online Tutoring in Chennai for Classes 1 to 10
eGunas teaches Chennai students from Class 1 to Class 10 online, one to one, with certified human teachers, for the CBSE, ICSE or State Board syllabus. Your child learns from home over the internet. There is no eGunas centre in Chennai and no home tuition, and eGunas does not teach Tamil.

Tamil in every school, since 2006
The Tamil Nadu Tamil Learning Act, 2006 (Act No. 13 of 2006) was passed so that all students studying in Standards I to X in all schools in the state learn Tamil as one of their subjects, introduced in phases from the 2006–07 academic year. For a Chennai student in any class from 1 to 10, Tamil is therefore one of the subjects on the timetable.
eGunas does not teach Tamil. If Tamil is where your child needs help, look for a Tamil teacher; for the other subjects in the eGunas catalogue, online tutoring may suit.

When cyclones and heavy rain close Chennai’s schools
Heavy rain can close Chennai’s schools at short notice. In early December 2025, for example, schools and colleges in Chennai and neighbouring districts were shut as Cyclone Ditwah brought a red alert for heavy rainfall.
An eGunas lesson needs no journey, so a closure day need not mean a missed lesson if the power and internet at home are working. If they are not, let eGunas know.

What a Chennai child can study with eGunas
From Class 1 to Class 10, CBSE students can take Mathematics, Science, English, Hindi and Social Studies, and ICSE students Mathematics, Science, English, and History & Civics. For a Tamil Nadu State Board student, the fit is less certain: the catalogue offers State Board Mathematics, Science and Social Studies without saying which state’s syllabus they use, so raise it at the free demo class before booking.
State Board students in Tamil Nadu take the SSLC examination at the end of Class 10, conducted by the state’s Directorate of Government Examinations.
