Online Tutoring in Mumbai for Classes 1 to 10
eGunas gives Mumbai students from Class 1 to Class 10 one-to-one online lessons with certified human teachers, for the CBSE, ICSE or State Board syllabus. Your child learns from home over the internet. There is no eGunas centre in Mumbai, tutors do not visit homes, and eGunas does not teach Marathi.

Marathi is compulsory in Mumbai schools, whatever the board
Under the Maharashtra Compulsory Teaching and Learning of Marathi Language in Schools Act, 2020 (Maharashtra Act No. III of 2020), Marathi is taught as a compulsory subject from Standard I to Standard X. The Act’s definition of a school expressly includes schools affiliated to CBSE, CISCE, the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge and other boards, not only state board schools, and it was introduced class by class from the 2020–21 academic year. The Act applies across Maharashtra, so the same is true for schools in Pune, Nagpur and the rest of the state.
eGunas does not teach Marathi. If Marathi is the subject your child needs help with, eGunas is not the right choice for it. For the subjects in the eGunas catalogue, it may be.

Maharashtra State Board students
If your child’s school follows the Maharashtra State Board, check the syllabus before booking. eGunas State Board courses cover Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, but the catalogue does not name which state boards they follow. Ask at the free demo class whether the lessons match what your child is taught at school.
State Board students sit the SSC examination at the end of Class 10. The Pune guide explains the board that conducts it and the textbook bureau behind the syllabus, both of which are based in Pune.
School closures in the monsoon
Heavy rain can close Mumbai’s schools at short notice. On 19 August 2025, for example, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation announced that all schools and colleges in Mumbai city and suburbs would stay closed after the India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall.
An online lesson does not need a journey, so a closure day does not have to mean a missed lesson, as long as the power and internet connection at home are working. School closures are announced by the BMC; eGunas lessons are arranged separately.
